Assessment of Laboratory Parameters in Acute Stroke Patients Underwent Decompression Surgery

Objective: Decompression surgery is applied as a life-saving treatment in patients with malignant cerebral edema. We aimed to evaluate the effect of laboratory parameters such C-reactive protein and albumin ratio predicting decompression at an early stage acute stroke patients. Material Method: Demographic characteristics, CRP values, time, NIHSS mRS scores 53 who underwent were listed. The grouped according time 0-24th hours, 24th-48th 48th-72th hour after 72th hours each group evaluated. Results: mean age 31 male 22 female was 61±14 (34-91) years. There no significant difference between groups terms gender, NIHSS, scores. A statistically detected first second (p=0.024) when comparing ratios. Conclusion: Markers inflammation, serum CRP, ratios evaluated determine their usefulness suggesting timing surgical treatment.
